This was recently discussed (in March I think) on the list. Check the
archives for the full discussion, I think it will answer all your
questions. (The URL is at the bottom of all the emails that are
distributed from the list.)
The bottom line, I believe, was that it was being resurrected and you
should feel comfortable using it.
