This is not true. You can use WebMacro for commercial use. I offer
a commercial license *only* because some people do not want to
use GPL. If you want to build commercial sites or roll out stuff
in your company, or write free applications, etc., I and the GPL
encourage you to do so.
Commercial use is freely permitted under the GPL. You can put it to
whatever use you like.
Saying GPL'd software is not free for commercial use is highly
misleading, verging on FUD.
I think we could have a long and boring debate over whether free
software is what GNU calls it (Linux/FSF/WebMacro) or what Eric S. Raymond
calls it. Probably there are better forums for that debate than here.
To re-iterate, WebMacro is available under the regular old GPL, same
as Linux and a million other things that clearly are free. I know the
Apache group has a differing view, but it is hardly fair to say that
WebMacro cannot be put to commercial use.
