I think the threads still have to time share because the threads are
running inside the virtual machine. The VM is simulating a processor -
isn't it?

NT will support up to four processors out of the box ( more with vendor
specific custom implementations. ) Time sliced multi-processor
multithreading is automatic and is a great way to determine if your
threaded
app really works properly. BTW, this is true of all apps on NT ( with
threads ) not just java.
