You can write a signed JavaApplet without any user interface which get a
directory's content. Using LiveConnect (works in IE and Communicator) you can
feed the filenames you got into your <INPUT TYPE=file ...> forms elements using
the DOM. Then the remaining task on server side is to accept multipart requests.
