We have two application modules made in java, one is a servlet and other
is sort of calculator which we call a 'Magic Box'. These 2 entities need
to talk to each other, my question is - is there a need to use RMI in
order to pass objects back and forth between the 2 entites, keeping in
mind that both of them will reside on the same physical system (server).

Under what situation the use of RMI is considered a better approach than
simple object serilization.

Any feedback is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Gaurav
