This may get slightly off topic. For that I apologise!
I tried to set the page to expires immediately. It works fine in IE but in
Netscape it still loads the page without sending a post to the servlet. I can
not turn off the buttons and menus because my users have to be able to print
pages.
Do you know any ways to turn off certain buttons and leave others active (i.e.
leave the print active but turn off the forward and back)

If you dont want your users to go 'forwards' and 'backwards', open
your page in a new window
that does not have these buttons OR generate a page that expires
immediately!
