Hi Sam Rose:
Thanx a lot for you assitance,
But the problem is that I need to use cookies not a session because I need these
values stored into the cookies to be adomain level not a session level.
This means, I can get the value of the sored cookies for a specific user while
navigating through the same domain, for example: if the domain is www.zyz.com then I
can get the values of the cookies where ever the user goes provided that he still in
this domain, www.xyz.com/sub-dir1 or www.xyz.com/sub-dir2 ...etc
Because I may use diiferent servlets to serve different pages in that domain, I need
the cookies not the session

Would it not be :-
session.putValue("login.user", newuserid);
session.putValue("login.passwd", newpassword);
so that it overwrites the previous values of login.user and
login.passwd, assuming of course you put the values into the session
in the first place.
Although, this isn't completely related to cookies, but seems a lot
easier approach.

Subject: Modifying the Cookies? Help
Hi all:
I have send this message but didn't receive any replies, I hope this
time I will find some help
I have a servlet that deal with cookies, it will get the cookie from
the user request header information, these information include the
following
User ID
User Password
Etc...
The user shall be able to send also the User ID and User Password if
he want to change his ID and Password and then go on with these new
values to over write the old values stored in his cookies
I need to MODIFY the value of the User ID and Password, and return the
new set of cookies with the new values to be replaced with the old
values.
Is there any way to do this
Your replies are highly appretiated
