Months in the calendar class are stored using a 0 based number system, not 1
based.  Thus January is stored as 0 and May would be 4.  Your instance of
Calendar has the right date, it just stores it differently then you might
think.  If you use an instance of SimpleDateFormat to convert your date to a
string, you'll find that it transforms the month to the one-based system
that you are used to.
