Wow, then what have I been using the past two months? We run on jdk 1.2.1 on
both windoze and solaris, and connect to an Oracle 7.3.x database on the
solaris machine.

I don't know what version of the oracle drivers I downloaded about two
months ago, but it was whatever was available at that time on oracle's web
site. I would suggest you download the driver, write a simple program to
connect to the database, and run it on 1.2 and if your having problems try
it with 1.1. Then give us your results.
