For WebSphere to do load balancing, I believe that you need both the
WebSphere Performance Pack (does the actual load balancing) and the
WebSphere Application Server.
When you are running in this mode with multiple servlet engines, you
configure one of the instances to "own" the sessions. The other instances
are configured to point to it as the "session repository". I haven't tryed
this configuration for myself but it looks like it should work provided you
make certain that anything that you store in the session is "serializable".
