Hi Andy, If I use trusted applet to read file from local directory of server and servlet will write into this file everytime username and password are written into this file?? You cannot open a connection from a servlet to an applet except where security limits have been relaxed with certificates and signed servlets/applets Hope that helps.   Andy Bailey
