Hi,
But the question was "the difference between doGet(), doPost() & service()
methods of servlets !"
u have correctly explained regarding the nature of GET & POST requests from
the browser's perspective.
But also - If u invoke a servlet using POST method from the browser u can
call "doGet" in the servlet through doPost method. Just write
doGet(request, response) in doPost. And vice-versa can be done i.e doPost
can be called inside doGet. Just write doPost(request, response) in doGet.
I saw some good code snippets regarding this in Jason Hunter's book.
