Often there are questions related to JRun and/or ServletExec on this
list. Without trying to say whether these posts are appropriate for
this list or not, I wanted to point out that those products do have
their own mailing lists, since some people seem to be unaware of it
(and of course, some do, as these lists have been mentioned here
previously).

You might think that these lists would not be so useful, but they are,
as a lot of users participate in them (the JRun list does have more
traffic than the ServletExec list), exchanging information openly and
honestly. They are a good way of finding out about those products,
both good and bad.

For example, someone here just asked about comparative information
about JRun and WebSphere. Well, they might find it relevant that a
lot of people on the JRun list lately are complaining about runaway
CPU usage by JRun, and a lack of response from JRun's support people
to their complaints.

To find out more about these mailing lists:

For ServletExec, go to New Atlanta's web page at:

http://www.newatlanta.com

For JRun, it's a little more complex, as they were recently taken over
by (or merged with) Allaire, and their web pages and mailing lists are
somewhat in a state of flux. But you might try one of more of the
following:

http://www.livesoftware.com
http://www.jrun.com
http://www.allaire.com
http://www.houseoffusion.com

In particular, Live Software used to have several JRun/JSP related
lists, but they are apparently doing away with them in favor of just
one new list, jrun-talk, available through the houseoffusion site.
Also, apparently, their support people are monitoring the mailing list
less, instead using a web-based forum at:

http://forums.allaire.com/jrun

FWIW, I've found that New Atlanta's support people have been much more
responsive to questions on the ServletExec list than Live Software's
on the JRun lists; I don't know about the new JRun forum at Allaire,
as I haven't checked it out. (Note: I don't know if I seem like I'm
pushing one of these products over the other; that's not my intention,
I'm just trying to relay my observations/experience objectively.)

I wouldn't be surprised if other servlet engine products
(e.g. WebSphere) have their own mailing lists or other fora, but I
don't know have any information on them.
