The problem is the README file in the JSDK 2.0 download (SCCS version 1.4, dated
98/04/20). It states that you don't need the JSDK if you are using JDK1.2,
because (at the time of writing) it was included with the beta that was publicly
available. Later on, it got pulled out of JDK 1.2, but the 2.0 README was never
updated.
This is really confusing to users who need JSDK 2.0 to run Apache JServ 1.0, for
example. What would be ideal would be to have a repackaged 2.0.1 JSDK that
incorporates both a corrected README file and the Y2K patch that was subsequently
released.
