Hi Sam,

just a quick point, servlets are generally GUI'less server side components
that do much the same job
as cgi scripts or asp's. There is nothing to stop you from build a GUI into
a servlet and in fact sometimes
it might be desirable to do so, administration being an example.

I would not recommend it however. There are many issues to do with Servlets
that would make the direct
coupling of a GUI to one a daunting exersise at best.

Both Swing and the AWT are best used in Applications and the AWT used for
applets.
