Hello
I am not sure if this is what you want, but statistics on which
webbrowsers are most frequently used can be found at several sites.
http://browserwatch.internet.com/stats.html
http://ournet.md/stat/9907/browsers.html
http://www.cen.uiuc.edu/bstats/latest.html
The first one, BrowserWatch, is a site that gets a lot of visits from
webdevelopers etc, which leads to that IE there has only a 40 %
marketshare; at both the other places IE has approximately a 60 % share.
At Browserwatch 10 % of the users use Opera, which does not ring totally
true to me (regarding the general webusing public, that is).
The first and third of these sites have long lists of the return values
of the "User-Agent" header (the values that they have based their
statistics on), so I hope they will give you something you can use, at
least as a start.
Remember that these lists are made from the currently common values of
"User-Agent", so as David Bullock stated, you must allow for unknown
values (the future versions of Navigator, Explorer, Opera etc) in your
servlets.
Regards,
Micael
