But I believe the spec is more specific for the Expires header than
for any of the other date headers (I assume there are, or could be,
other date headers, else why have a general method like that, as
opposed to setExpires or such). If so, it could be that setDateHeader
uses the required Expires header format for all the date headers, but
who knows. Plus you have to worry about coming up with an appropriate
long time value. Setting the Expires header directly seems more
straightforward and less problematic to me.
