Do you actually mean this? or do you mean when the servlet is loaded
and then unloaded?
If you _do_ mean this then it is pointless having a thread, why would
you only want a thread for the period that the service() call is in
action?
It can be done but it sounds like you've got the wrong end of the
stick somewhere.
