this is not off topic.
[i'm guessing here a bit as to the behaviour your experiencing]
since your on win9x it is possible that the environment
space is not sufficently large enough to append the
values as specified in the startserver.bat. if you run
this script and subsequently see some logging and a dos
shell appears and subsequently disappears then your
running into the problem i've described. there are, i
believe, some notes in the provided README as to how to
extend the memory for win95 and it has been discussed
on this list before so it should be accessable via the
online archives:
