you have several problems here.
The biggest one is that this is not at all secure.
You need the lecturer to provide some form of password along with their
name so that you can validate a login (I assume this is what you want to do)
on the
server side.
You don't really need any javascript validation here unless you want to make
sure
that the fields have some content at all.
I would rethink your strategy for this problem, validation on the client
side to limit
access to part of the web site is not secure.
