Use getRemoteAddr() to get the client's IP address.
I the servlet configuration file add two parameters
(intranet low and high IP address) that define
the range of intranet IP addresses. You can
even add multiple pairs (for multiple ranges)

Subject: Technique For Detecting Client
Hi,
Anyone knows how to detect if a servlet or jsp request
originates from a intranet or internet client?
Thanks for any help or suggestion.
