Design your site and code elegantly and extensibly. Sure, eliminate
useless object creation (like replace string concatenation with a
StringBuffer) but don't change your architecture style solely to gain a
tiny bit of performance. Only in the rare case should you jump through
hoops to reduce useful object creation.
Besides, now with HotSpot and the JDK 1.2 reference implementation JVMs
using a faster way to clean up temporary objects, there's even one more
reason to not go overboard.
