I have two suggestions left for Ravi:
- you may want to check the connection options, if there is a parameter
specifying the maximum buffere size per column. I had similar problems using
query analyser - it limited data output from one column to 256 chars.
- maybe the driver in fact has problems with SQL 7 new extensions and insert
just miraculously works ( because it doesn't need to guess the data size ).
WebLogic claimed that their driver 4.51 was not fully compatible with MSSQL
