I'd like to add something.
You have to decide on what you want: strong encryption of the password or being able
to remind
user of the password.
As Craig wrote, passwords encrypted using (I'll throw another one in) SHA or MD5 or
whatever
are unfeasible to decrypt so you won't be able to tell password back to the user. And
if you
encrypt it using something reversible then your passwords are not too safe and can be
cracked.
