Hi,
Anyone have any idea of a RAMDISK software application that runs on
Solaris?
We have developed a high end video (30fps - jpeg) server application using
RMI and Servlets YET we would like to offload our Servlets from streaming
the video down to the client. Rather we were thinking of having the
Servlet send back a file name and the web server (Apache) would send back
the image file - and thus we limit the time the Servlet spends processing
any given request.
A bottleneck on our Sun E450 (Dual 400MHz CPUs, 1 GIG RAM, and (4) 9 GB
disk drives) is disk access.
I've heard of being able to set up a RAM disk on LINUX.
Any help would be VERY appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
--Nikolaos
