JOnAS is the BullSoft implementation of EJB specifications which is
available as Open Source. JOnAS is a pure JavaTM implementation of the EJBTM

Support of Entity Beans with either Bean Managed Persistence or Container
Managed Persistence (both upon JDBCTM)
Support of all the transaction attributes
Support of JTA 1.0.1
Distribution using RMI and naming using JNDI
New: Enhydra, JOnAS, and Jonathan ORB projects announce a major open-source
initiative, by joining forces to provide a full Java 2 Enterprise platform.

The JOnAS for EJB platform is composed of:

A Java Transaction Monitor (JTM).
A set of Java classes implementing the EJB specification.
A set of tools for generating interposition classes (containers) and
deployment descriptors.
New: JOnAS 1.5 is available with 3 packagings:
binary version for JDK 1.2 (java 2) and EJB 1.1
binary version for JDK 1.1 and EJB 1.0
source code for all JDK versions.
The JOnAS open source initiative has been launched in collaboration with
several partners including the CNET (France Telecom's R&D division) and
ExOffice.
