This is going to sound like a sales pitch but its my opinion. WebLogic has
an excellent connection pool included with there product thats easy to
integrate with your servlets. You do not need a http server with there app
server since one's included. It comes with type-4 drivers for most popular
databases. The performance of there http server is at least as good as IIS
and Apache. Java Magazine rated it tops. I've tested the BEA's WebExpress
App Server and was very impressed with there support, newsgroup and product.
The downside is it more expensive than most others and when I first tested
the product (before purchasing) support was not that good.

Subject: WebLogic App Server
Hello all!
Is anyone using WebLogic App Server?
Can you please describe me your experience with it?
A link to a web page comparing App Servers would also be good!
Thank you!
Telmo
