Hi every body,
I am using servlets to output data to Microsoft Excel by setting the appropriate content type as discussed previously in this forum..
This is working perfectly fine with Netscape. How ever with Internet Explorer 4.0 it periodically shows this error--
" Microsoft excel cannt access the file http://..... . There are several possible reasons--
1. the file name or path name does not exists
2. The file you are trying to open is being used by another prog.
3. The name of the workbook you are trying to save is the same as the name of another document that is Read only. "
After trying 2-3 times the application opens Excel.
I wanted to know if any one has any idea about this or has had similar problem..
Also some times IE opens Excel in the IE application(window) itself and at other time it invokes a completely new excel application, where as Netscape always opens it in a different application with out any problem.
Is there some kind of command or setting in the registry for this also..
Any help will really be appreciated..
