Hello Bart et al:

I agree with this thinking. Increasingly I find myself wading through
material that is irrelevant or reflects very little research on behalf of
the poster. I do not wish to dissuade people from participating in this or
any forum; I hope they respect the forum, however.

I think posters should go first to the archives and then to try posting.
When possible, as some posters are kind enough to do, it is wise to indicate
that the archives provide insufficient information for the poster. That
seems fair.

I also do not think it is polite for people to begin their off-topic posting
with a qualifying remark like "I know this is off-topic but ..." since an
admission of guilt never lessens the crime.

And if that's not enough opining already, I also think expert replies should
be made via direct correspondence rather than through the service.

Finally, is there not a list moderator of sorts out there, or is this some
form of anarchist exercise? Are we really just guinea pigs?

Thanks for your time and ontological remarks notwithstanding,

David Hildebrandt

I'm normally pretty quiet in my responses to this forum, but I can't stop
myself this time.

I have subscribed to this forum to learn and discuss servlets and issues
directly relating to servlets. If I want to learn about applets, I will
subscribe to an applets forum.

This question is completely off-topic. What's worse, people reply on-list.
I often reply to off-topic questions, but I reply directly to the poster of
the question.

Between this question and the one about testing for null, I have received 22
emails out of the 55 waiting for me this morning.

Please keep it on topic, for both the initial question and responses.

Thanks.

Can anyone tell me how to call one applet from another applet ? This is
required to me because I want to design a system of multiple hiererchy
of applets and with those applets I want to handle a backend database.
In the front end I want to use a browser to get the parent applet.

Please help, this is very very urgent for me.

Thanks in advance

Moloy
