hi, there
Is it necessary to use a mail server (like as sendmail, MS exchange) in
java mail? can I not use mail server, just use smtp protocol to send a mail
message?
codes as following:
        Properties props=new Properties();
        props.put("mail.smtp.host","203.115.202.126");
        Session session=Session.getInstance(props,null);

Can I leave part of "203.115.202.126" blank?

I am thinking about, let's say, sendmail, before has sendmail server, how
can people send mail? or all the mail on internet were sent after a mail
server exists? how sendmail self sends a mail message? use other mail
server? many mail server developed using javamail, do they still need other
mail server?

I just want to send a mail using javamail without specifying a mail server,
for convenient using.

sincerely
sun
