I disagree, fairly strongly. First off, this question was off-topic,
so in some sense the original poster was lucky to get a response at
all. But I feel the same way for many on-topic questions as well.
The topic of this list is not a beginner's topic, and people who need
to be hand-held through answers probably shouldn't be here in the
first place -- they need to consult some other resources, like books
and online tutorials (like Sun's) to better get up to speed.
Exceptions would be when the question/answer is complex and involved.
Further, people who ask questions should not expect people on the list
to do their work for them, they need to be prepared to do some of it
themselves, like poking around a website to find the specific answers
they need.
Sure, it's better to be more specific. But if I know an answer to
someone's question can be found on a certain website, but not
necessarily the specific URL, often I'm not going to waste my time
tracking it down.
