dear eric, set JAVA_HOME to c:\jdk1.2.2 and try this javac -classpath c:\jswdk-1.0.1\lib\servlet.jar HelloWorld.java In my machine i have the servlet.jar in c:\jswdk-1.0.1\lib\ You can give the appropriate path. General rule is any new api you use make sure you include the jar in the classpath.
