Gaurav,
The Wrox book "Java Server Programming" by numerous authors has a
section on generation of gif images in servlets. You can get gif codec at
http://www.acme.com/java/software/Acme.JPM.Encoders.GifEncoder.html
Gif images are more appropriate than jpegs for charts. I am working
on a similar thing so let me know how you do. You can check out some
