hey guys,
an alternative which some of you might be interested in, is using
x-emacs for (winnt or unix) and use the package jde with it. it gives a
great ide. it an run java apps and applets and jdb as a subprocess in a
frame of xemacs. It also invokes jdb in a frame. It takes a little
tweaking to get it running, but once you get it running, its just simply
sweet. and yes, here, FREE means FREE!! The learning curve is a little
steep but once you get there. its totally cool! They even hava speedbar,
whihc gives you a gui display of class hierarchy. And ofcourse, if you
know lisp, the sky is the limit as to what you can do with it. ;)
you can get xemacs from www.xemacs.org and there is a link for jde under
the packages section.
give it a try. you might be pleasantly surprized. (after you get it
working right ;) )
