I know for a fact that Wall-Mart is NOT running Java Asps.  What you are seeing is BroadVision JavaScript Pages.  It is very confusing, I know, but it is an important distinction to make, since they have exactly the same extension and they both serve dynamic content, but are implemented ENTIRELY differently.

Think of BV JSP as a custom implementation of Netscape Livewire.
