the servlet you wrote returns the QueryString (part after the question mark) of

the URL calling th servlet.

e.g.
if you call your servlet with     www.domain.ext/servlet/GetData
it returns null
if you call it with                    www.domain.ext/servlet/GetData?Data
it returns Data
