I don't think that you can use the JDBC 2.0 API (JDK 1.2.2) with a driver that conforms to the older JDBC 1.0 API (JDK 1.1.x). You'll have to go to Oracle's site has the latest JDK 1.2 drivers for Oracle8.

I am thinking that thin driver classes111.zip should be used for jdk1.1.x.
