Unfortunately, that is an "A-bomb" approach to fix things, and is
likely going to seriously affect performance.  You've effectively
eliminating multi-threading -- and all of its advantages.

A better solution would be to more closely analyze your code, figure
out where the problem is occurring, and either eliminate it (e.g. by
redesigning your code), or put a "synchronized" on the smallest block
of code possible.
