Hi,
I am posting to this list in the hope that somebody here has encountered
this problem and has a work-around. My sincere apologies for resorting to
this (the last remaining option for me. nobody I have asked seems to have an
answer for this)
If i use auto-proxy, then the java plugin(1.2) gives me the following
error :
Proxy Configuration: Automatic Proxy Configuration
java.io.FileNotFoundException:file://,? (The network name cannot be found)
at java.io.FileInputStream.open(Native Method)
at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(Unknown Source)
at java.io.FileReader.<init>(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.navig.win32.ProxySupport.downloadJSFile(Unknown Source)
and then a small message box comes up with the message "Cannot download
auto-proxy-config file".
I have tried whatever the plugin doc says, but with no results. Can
somebody please answer to me off-list? The applet works fine after pressing
Ok on the message-box, it is just that it is a bit confusing (not to say
irritating) to the end-user.
I would really appreciate if somebody gives me sometips/URL on where to
find help on this.
