I just tried the same on Linux. The only combination that worked for me is
Apache 1.3.x; Apache JServ 1.1 and JWSDK2.0
There are several places in the docs, where it is asserted that Apache JServ
won't work with anyother version of JWSDK except 2.0. Not a future version
not an earlier version.
I tried Tomcat as well, didn't have much luck. I wonder how people are
evaluating and testing TomCat releases. There has to be a way....

Subject: How to make Tomcat understand /servlet
Hi there!
I've been using JRun in the past, to run servlets like
http://myhost.company.com/servlet/SimpleServlet
or http://myhost.company.com/servlet/com.att.packagename.MyServlet
Today I've installed Apache+Tomcat3.1M1 and I got the demo servlets
working (on Solaris 2.7).
However, I noticed that I can't simply compile SimpleServlet.java
in the servlets directory and expect the URL above to work.
Is there a way to make Tomcat behave pretty much like JRun, as far
as dropping servlets in the "servlets" directory and have it run ?
I don't won't to have to modify some configuration file every time
someone adds a servlet in our system.
Thanks a lot.
Roque
