The 3.0 version of WebSphere installs the Websphere configuration in either
a DB2 or Oracle file only !! This is per IBM's documentation. They also only
support DB2 and Oracle with their container managed persistance.
With this being said I think you can use SQL server as your as your
application Database with connection pooling if you have a Type 4 Driver.
Try Kona . I believe you set this up in the admin.config file.
You can , of course, use straight JDBC access for any supported Database.
