Don't know if you found it yet, but there is an online HOWTO at:

(You can get to this link manually by following the 'FAQ' link from the main
Jakarta page, but it's a bit of a needle in a haystack job).
Still working on getting Apache 1.3.9 going, but if I have any other insights
into the process, I will email you about it.
