What you do is set it up so that auto-replies are only sent to e-mails
which are directly addressed to you. The Unix 'vacation' program does
this along with a few other things (like not sending more than one
out-of-office response to any given person more than one per some
defined period of time). I don't know of any equivalent tool on
Windows or Macs though there may be something.
