David,
I highly recommend you leave winnt - you should solaris or linux - they are
both relatively free, and very stable. The best web server to use would be
apache web server or java web server - there isn't much difference between the
two servers, but apache is free, and has a module which you can install called
JServ - java module (servlets and jsp)

if you do decide to stay with winnt, i still recommend you use apache and
JServ - they are totally free and don't have anything to do with microsoft
(because of this, IIS isn't quite as stable as others)

okay, i admit i don't like MS, but the fact is linux and apache are probably
the best combination. Some distributions of linux (redhat) include apache,
however i don't think they have JServ compiled in.

for all my developing (wap) I have a linux machine (redhat 6.1) with apache
and JServ, which is where i do all my work, and an NT box which i use as a wap
gateway (nokia) - the entire system is extremly stable and has never crashed.

Hopefully this can be of help

Rob
