The server doesn't remember the user id and password. The browser does.
There is nothing the server side code can do about this situation.
That's not to say however that you can't continue to send
"HttpServletResponse.SC_UNAUTHORIZED" until the user gets the idea that he
can no longer use the system. How to decide that is up to you.
