Hi,
I was analysing a huge servlet code base and ended up with this
requirement doubt.....

Can I instantiate a servlet and cache the object before a client
requests for it ???
the reason is: There's a plenty of things like parsing and loading data
files in the servlet's init () function, which consumes substantial
network time.

S/w : JSDK2.1, JDK1.2
environment : Windows NT
Currently iam using servletrunner as the servlet engine... but finally
it's going to be JRun with Netscape Enterprise Server.

thanks in advance,
venky
