How do i access a HTML variable in Servlets.For Example:If i have a text field in HTML and I have access the value of the textfield and perform some validation.

You can do field validation:
Use Javascript and validate junk etc entered into fields.... like alpabets not allowed in numeric fields, etc...
Or get the parameter, do validation in servlet if error found throw an alert, refresh the old empty field screen.
