Hey!

This looks excessive.  50KB per second.

My combination is WebSphere Advanced 3.02 with DB2 UDB Enterprise 6.1 using
their Type 3 JDBC driver.  I see no such problem.

Their have been many postings on this E-list about the Oracle thin driver.
Check the archive.  One guy said he struggled with it and finally went to
a third party JDBC driver.
