Unify Corporation (Nasdaq: UNFY), a leading provider of software solutions
for e-commerce, today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to
acquire New Atlanta Communications, LLC, a privately held, Atlanta-based
premier provider of Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages (JSP) technology. The
acquisition will allow Unify to leverage New Atlanta's leading server-side
Java technology, extending Unify's momentum as a principal provider of open,
component-based e-commerce solutions.
ServletExec will remain as a standalone product, now within the Unify eWave
product family of open, component-based e-commerce solutions. ServletExec
will be renamed Unify eWave ServletExec and will provide for a natural and
complementary evolution to Unify eWave Engine, the Enterprise Java Beans
(EJB) server component of the Unify eWave product family, and will be
available to customers looking for more scalable Java-based Internet and
e-commerce solutions.
New Atlanta's management and technical staff will be integrated into Unify's
operations and will remain in New Atlanta's existing Georgia facilities,
which will become Unify's East Coast office.
