We are developing a system that uses servlet to applet communications.
Since this is a 'shrink wrapped' product we are attempting to automate
the installation of our product into a number of web servers and servlet
engines using InstallAnywhere. This is proving a difficult task given the
combinations of platforms, web servers and servlet engines. Testing the
installation requires the testers to set up the relevant web server and/or
servlet engine first which is no small task in itself. They also need a
reasonable knowledge of the where the server/engine configuration files are
and what the servlet URL will be.

The servers and engines we have chosen are:

Apache with JServ
IIS with JRun
Netscape Enterprise Server 3 with JRun
IPlanet
Oracle Application Server (our client base are mainly Oracle users)
JSWDK, which we are distributing

What I would like to know is what does everyone else do?
